My entry for K12's Poetry Contest 2019
MathElaSciTechArtSocHist (My favorite subject)

This is my dad's poem, illustrated by me! ---------->
This is his advice on how I should live my life.
So I'd like to share it with you!
I'm glad we are all different,
what a boring world it would be
if we are all the same!

by Iris I step outside into the wild even though I’m still a child I go up close to a yellow wasp with it’s warning stripes so clear I never even had a fear. I twist around the focus ring still standing very still… Clickity click! There it was A forever living, beauty giving, wondrous photograph. I walk around, peeking about I find a wolf spider crawling on a water spout Lurking nearby, watching keenly As I approach, the spider runs away but not before his picture was taken for today A forever living, beauty giving, wondrous photograph. I kneel down onto the ground observing ants feasting on a chicken nugget they found I focus on the myriad eating to their fill Click clack! There I go again A moment captured into a single frame Another picture added to a gallery Forever living, beauty giving, wondrous photographs. (4/28/2017) |
Here is a collection of my drawing turned into books. Mom always kept every scribbles and drawings and find it hard to discard them. For any of my book ideas, we generally put together ten drawings. I describe what I'm imagining and tell a story about my drawings. This is how "Drawings and Little Stories by Iris" came about.
I colored my drawings using GIMP illustrator, and we put everything together and posted them as a reading video. We also printed them as gifts for friends and loved ones.
