This is a dialog of this woodpecker hammering away at the tree outside my window on a snowy day. This particular species, the downy woodpecker, has been known to join or create 'mixed species flocks', where different birds join in a single flock. It would have been a wonder to see this guy hanging out with many species!
They can peck out little 'caves' in tree trunks and wood to lay their eggs in, but I'm sure he's not making one here because he's pecking such a little branch. Unless your eggs are a couple millimeters long you can't stuff them in there! XD Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the babbling of this "birb". Have a nice winter and stay warm! :)
