Yum, ants. This Giant Anteater [Myrmecophaga Tridactyla] is out looking for them. Anteaters eat- you guessed it, ants! They are purely insectivorous. It's their entire vibe. Just look at this lad's massive claws for digging into wherever ants might be bunkering out. That long, long snoot is good for poking into ant nests. Anteaters have a really hecking lengthy tongue that ants stick to. Their conservation status is vulnerable due to hunting and habitat destruction. Urbanization and farmland expansion has been rapidly damaging and replacing their homes and foraging grounds. They are hunted as pests, killed by feral dogs, and hit by cars. There are only 5,000 of them left in the wild. Hopefully conservation efforts will bring their numbers back up. Like eating ants? Know someone who does? Check out my Spreadshirt shop- this anteater will be there too.
